Operations Symmco manages through outside partners
Steam treating, heat treating, plating, surface grinding and resin impregnation are not performed at either Symmco plant. Rather than leaving the customer to source them, Symmco manages each through an outside partner and coordinates the work, so a part that needs a plated surface or a resin-impregnated body still comes back to the customer from Symmco, and the buyer receives a finished part from one supplier.
The machining and finishing work stays in-house: machining on Symmco's own lathes and mills, tumbling, rust-preventive dip, oil impregnation, assembly, specialty packaging and grit blasting at the Tennessee plant.
